A professor of Bible languages at Union Theological Seminary in New York, Dr. Marvin R. Vincent, wrote that in theKJV(and other old translations into English) some uses of 'worship' may seem to be
"An unfortunate translation, according to modern English, but justified by the usage of earlier English, according to which to worship meant simply to honor. Worship is worthship, or honor paid to dignity or worth. This usage survives in the [British] expressions 'worshipful' and 'your worship.' In the marriage-service of the English Church occurs the phrase, 'With my body I thee worship.' So Wycliffe [one of the earliest English Bible translators] renders Matthew 19:19, 'Worship thy father and thy mother;' and John 12:26, 'If any man serve me, my Father shall worship him.'" - pp. 533, 534,Word Studies in the New Testament, vol. 1, Sage Software, 1996.
So, just like the Bible words shachah(Hebrew) and proskuneo(Greek), the word 'worship' in English also, until relatively recent times, had various levels of meaning and could be applied to other men in a lower sense of the word.

To aid those with limited time, patience, and Bible understanding to develop a thirst for Gods Word. And, in the case of those who read the Bible, the Watchtower to stimulate thought on Biblical matters that they may otherwise not discuss at the door or with their church group. They are like a bait to draw people in to studying the Bible and coming to an accurate knowledge of God.

As pointed out earlier in the thread, gifts of prophesying and infallible direction have ceased (can people please read a topic before replying to it?), all that anyone can do today is try to interpret prophecies in the Bible, not make them. We do not compare the Watchtower to the Bible, Gods Word comes before anything else in terms of importance.

God's blessing is evident when we reach the understanding that is in complete harmony with Scripture, and we all usually agree it is better, whereas the previous understanding was not. The light gets brighter.

..We do not teach new things when it comes to our core beliefs, we are not suddenly going to say 'okay now we are all going to worship Jesus and the Holy spirit'. We only adjust our understanding to a better one, that will not keep changing, when it comes to doctrines that need clarification but are not a vital aspect of worship. Jehovah can allow our lack of understanding in some matters, he is patient and will act in his own due time. -

..Agreed. Nobody today is inspired directly by God. So should nobody teach what is found in the Bible? Without a central body of leadership, how could any decision be reached as to how those in Gods organisation should act? (Remember the decision regarding circumcision made by the 1st century body of older men)
